I got this for my 2 small dogs. It is so much easier to fill than the previous ones I've had. The water does not run out until the jug is firmly in place in the base. The screw on top has a spring mechanism that is pushed up when it is on the base which allows the water to come out to fill the reservoir that your pet drinks from. The weight of the water is enough to keep my small dogs from turning it over, but they never turned any other brands over. It is easier to clean than other brands. My housemate had a difficult time filling the old one and always spilled water in the floor before she could get it on the base, but this one she has had no trouble putting it in the base. I am very pleased with this purchase.
