Review on Husky 31995 600-pound Weight Distribution Hitch and Sway Control with 2-inch Ball by Mike Pfettscher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Take your time with the installation

The hitch works exactly as it should. There are no problems. But the installation takes some time because the guide is poorly planned. There is a little chart that tells you how high the ends of the spring bars should be from the pavement. It doesn't tell you how to do it, nor does it link that step to the steps in the build that make it possible. Understand (I figured it out) but it should be clearer. All pre-assembly of the assembly should be done very loosely until you have adjusted the height of the spring bar ends. The instructions tell you to tighten some nuts (item 5) but this is wrong. Don't do this until everything is fine. Use washers and a rivet in the assembly to adjust the tilt of the head and the height of the spring bars. Use the adjustment screw under the rivet to tilt the head up and down each time to change the number of washers. Just do this a few times until you get the correct ends of these rods, then tighten and complete the assembly. You will also need two 1-1/8 inch sockets with screwdrivers and at least one must be deep. Spring. A wrench and a deep well will do, but I haven't tried that yet. None of this is difficult to do, but it does take some time to get it right. The weight of my trailer was perfectly distributed between the front and rear wheels and everything was as straight as possible.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some little things
