My 9 year old got this for his birthday after enjoying stop motion animations on our iPads. With this camera, he can refine the shots a little better with software that allows him to see the "onion skin” of the shot before the one he has adjusted. It helps make the movement smoother and he likes that aspect. It has some problems, from time to time a blank white frame will slip with others; from time to time the frame is out of place. But for a 9-year-old, it's a great way to get him interested in something other than video games, and he loves the opportunity to share the information the software offers.
