I was a bit worried at first because other reviews mentioned artifacts. So here is my assessment of "cubes". First, make sure you are using the correct HDMI monitor. (I tried using an old DVI-only monitor first, and I got a lot of signal dropout. I used an HDMI-to-DVI adapter, but that's a very hacky thing since they're different protocols When I did this on a TV and/or monitor with the correct HDMI input, it worked "very well". I tested it in an RPG running on a workstation across the house (with CAT5 cables, 50ft I believe) to see how it handles demanding graphics and has very slight artifacts. In particular, when I look at the monitor from less than 30cm away, I see a small number of pixels flickering randomly for a split second. But when I'm sitting 2 feet or more away I can't even see them. I took a picture of my monitor and at some point I seem to notice that 5 pixels are broken, which you can see in the red boxes. added. Again, they blink so quickly and so randomly that you don't notice unless you're looking for them less than 1 foot away. I assume there would be even less artefacts using CAT6+ cables. As someone who doesn't use a workstation for fun, these artifacts are perfectly acceptable - my workstation is big and noisy and I'm glad I can keep it where I work. And even if I used it for gaming/entertainment, I personally wouldn't be dissatisfied. I also noticed absolutely no lag when connected via USB. So overall I am very happy with this product.
