NOT SUPER AT ALL #1 Mevotech seems to have redesigned these ball joints and in my opinion it can only be for the better. Now I've heard reports from others who have ordered the same part # elsewhere and actually got 1 firm and 1 old blowjob, LUCKY ME has 2 old style blowjobs from Revain) I think it's a mix of old and new stock , and they don't take turns. old stock goes first, or how they buy the goods they sell, or both. I'm really starting to think that Revain (not always or on purpose) definitely sells car parts every now and then that aren't the latest version or have been on the shelf for quite some time. (Because I'm not the first and not the only Revain customer to raise this issue) That's not what I want, especially when it comes to parts that use oilers. The oiler on my only BJ lasted less than a month and a few hundred miles before the grease started leaking out of the seam. Maybe it was older and starting to deteriorate, a manufacturer fault (it happens) or just bad luck. But I know that most rubbery materials have an expiration date and don't last forever, even under ideal conditions. The revised materials contain the exact same part number, just look at the various images of that part number on the web. I can only tell from photos and comments that the boot has improved a lot (it has no seams - it's a well-made one-piece) and on one of my two uncorrected blowjobs, lube started leaking out of a seam. I have to assume that the gluing process fails in the seam of the boots. #2 The updated BJs have a removable one-piece boot that you put on after installation. They even have a cap that fits over the boot and that you push down. So don't worry about messing up your download during installation. Just a much better design that simplifies installation and is less likely to cause damage. #3 It's stronger and weighs even more. Plus it comes with better hardware, or at least the mother has a much better design. This is a nut with a washer on the bottom versus a lock nut without a washer on the bottom. #4 Both do not include a new seal/cone so buy new ones or I suggest reuse the old ones. Try removing the old ones with a three arm puller, or maybe heat it up a bit. Save and reuse! Or buy new BJs that include them. #5 Another BJ of mine that was replaced at the same time also lasted less than a month before it started rattling and was worse than the one I removed! So everything had to be redone! It's work, time and money! I bought them because I liked the idea that they have a grease fitting. If you can order and get the corrected latest version I think you will be fine. Perhaps Revain should go through each box of these and lower the price on older versions and let customers know that Mevotech uses the same part number. Because it's unfair and this job costs a lot of money the first time, let alone pay for it the second time (redo)! As you can probably see, I'm not happy with Revain and/or Mevotech. These parts are back tomorrow! Good luck, but I suggest you read a few forums before making your decision! Of course there are also satisfied users. Maybe they were lucky or they haven't seen their blowjobs lately. Choose wise! A few photos so you can see. 1. newer on the left, old style on the right. 2nd photo - my liquor and obviously old design
