Review on Lamp J Type Halogen Socket by Rhonda Johnson

BUYER ATTENTION! I ordered this B&P J type halogen bulb holder to replace one in a bulb that had failed after 30 years of good use. The socket looked identical to the native German one in my lamp and I was happy to find a replica. Aside from the visual aspects, I found that when it arrived the comparisons stopped there. After reinstalling and installing the bulb again, the cartridge fell apart. The internal parts are cheaply made. The textured metal on the outside of the seat is actually compressed to keep the inner spring and piston from coming out of the body. However, this was clearly not enough as all the internal parts popped out. There was no repair without destroying the metal bracket on the outside. Also, squeezing it with pliers or something similar would render it unusable because it has a thread! I finally reported this problem to a friend who sent me a socket that was manufactured just as correctly and reliably as the original.
