
I used to buy short micro USB cables with adapters on the end for the iPhone. It worked fine for a few months, but then it started to fail. At first I thought it was the charger but then I bought these cables and the charger works perfectly! So it's better to have a straight cable and it's built really well - seems quite heavy. I would be surprised if they don't last long. Of course, you still have to clean dirt from your iPhone's socket from time to time. :)
