It was a bit big when I first tried it on but remember it's all cotton and you have to wash it several times. Fits great after a few washes. The cap looks solid but there are no ventilation eyelets on the head. What happens when you put on a hat, it fits right on your head. That's why the hat on my head looks kind of clumsy. I have to remember to apply pressure from the top and squeeze the air out so I don't look like a marshmallow head. There is no polyester or foam around the headband. It is only the inner layer of the canvas that builds up from the outer layer. I'm happy with that. My other cotton caps had fibers or foam around the headband. After a few years of constant wear and washing, that foam or fiber headband just fell apart. So this is a hat that will last you for a long time. The more you wear and wash it, the better it will look. Finally, I liked the size of the sun visor. Not too long, not too short. I wear them to the gym or on my bike as I sweat a lot. The perfect hat to protect your eyes from the sun and sweat. I am happy with the cap and if I need another one I will order this brand again.
