NICE CHAIR BUT SEEMS WRONG AND DIFFICULT TO ASSEMBLE

I have been working from home for a year and just had a knee prosthesis. Sitting all day in an ordinary chair with your feet on the floor and knees bent is bad for my recovery. I figured since I don't have an ergonomic desk of my own at home I'd pick up my desk and grab a drafting chair so my legs can dangle a bit. Here's what I want to share: CONS: 1) Assembly was a nightmare 2) Instructions are abysmal 3) Chair pad slides into the base and it doesn't explain how to insert the chair pad. Actually I thought they sent a pillow that was too big. Eventually I ripped the metal base that the pillow was supposed to be placed on from the chair and was able to insert the pillow. Eventually I thought so, but the screw holes didn't line up and didn't go in. I had to leave one side of the chair cushion out of the base to insert screws on one side. Note that the chair is upside down and uncomfortable. The screws are cheap and actually wear out after a few attempts to screw them in. After tightening the screws on one side, I had to literally pull the chair base away from the cushion again, bending like metal, to allow it to slide inward. i wasn't happy This pushing and pulling went on forever. I finally got it installed and the included screws didn't work on that side either. I wasn't planning on going to the hardware store like someone else mentioned in their review. I went to my garage and found two screws that were longer than the screws that came with it and it worked. Finally the cushion was attached to the chair. 4) When I tried to throw the chair onto the central spring, it seemed wobbly. There is no way to tighten it. I just sat in to make sure it was fully lowered. There is no click or way to tell if I installed it correctly 5) The chair cushion flattens out when you sit on it and becomes uncomfortable after a while, so I ordered a memory foam seat cushion to sit on 6) Armrests are hard. so I ordered pillows for her. 7) I would like the seat cushion to be adjustable to move back and forth like my Ergo task chair. This would give me more padding under my feet to keep them from hanging off the chair. 7) I was sitting in a chair at max height and the chair was rocking from side to side and I felt a little unsteady as I sat as if trying to move it. .8) The chair was assembled in less than an hour while I was checking it and while sitting on it I heard a click and the screw flew out the back. I had to find another screw and put it back in to secure it. 9) When in the down position, it sags a bit when sitting on it, as another person has already complained. I weigh 160 pounds. Pros: 1) This is a very nice chair. I like the style 2) I like how the armrests can be raised and when I rotate my chair it doesn't hit the table 3) The back of the chair is ergonomic, the chair adapts to the curve of your back 4) The release mechanism works fine 5) I lifted the chair all the way up and he stood up quickly. I haven't tried to customize it because I won't. 6) I like that the height suits my desk well and I can easily get up and sit down. I use a footstool on the floor for my feet, so I can't tell you much about the footrest. 7) Love that it rolls nicely on my mat under my computer when not in use. Overall I like the chair and I will make a few improvements, armrests and a memory foam pillow for comfort in the bum and I will be gentle with it. hoping it doesn't fall apart in the future. It works for what I wanted it for. I've only been using it for 3 days and I'm happier than my other chair. Measurements: From the floor to the top of the cushion of the chair you are sitting on is 28 inches, from the floor to the back of the chair is 47 1/2 inches.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
