A simple waffle maker that works!

If like me you have been reading all the waffle maker reviews a few weeks ago trying to figure out which one is the 'right one' for your needs. I searched them all and they all had a few negative reviews that really made me say woooow. However, after reviewing them, I found that Dash had the best reviews and decided to take them. All in all, this is a fantastic waffle maker, albeit a "simple". It doesn't have any fancy features like an alarm clock or a timer. You literally plug it in and a red light comes on to let you know it's warming up. When hot, the light turns green. Again "only". That being said, "simple" is great because. Do you really need a timer or an alarm clock? Everyone has their own likes and dislikes when it comes to food, and this simplicity allows you to understand what's right for you. I personally use it to make shuffles (cheese waffles with cheese/egg) - I do the mix while the iron is heating up. Once the light turns green (usually 5 minutes after preheating), I quickly baste with non-stick cooking spray (we use coconut oil) and pour out the mixture. Then close the iron and leave it on for 5-10 minutes. I know it's done when the steam slows down - once it gets to that point the waffles are firm enough that I can test them to see if I want them to cook longer or not. All in all great for our purposes. The size of the waffle molds is ideal for preparing waffles as "bread" for a sandwich or hamburger. Or, you know, for a regular waffle. The only thing I would like is removable panels to make cleaning easier. All in all this is a solid waffle maker that does what it's supposed to do so no complaints!
