Review on Capresso 485 05 10 Cup Programmable Thermal by Prathima Rrain

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exceeded all expectations moving from MT500 to MT600

My wife loves coffee. When our old Capresso died after 6-7 years of daily use, we had to look for a replacement to meet her morning needs. We read reviews of the 485.05 MT600 Capreso and I came to the conclusion that we also really liked our old MT500 (?) and that having a weaker Capreso model would not be acceptable. However, our (wife's) requirements were as follows: 1. Must be programmable - the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the air at the moment of waking up (rather than 4 minutes after waking up)2. Must have a thermograph - a glass carafe that can be poured into the thermograph is not allowed3. Must be decently designed/attractive; it is kept on the counter and never removed4. Must be <$300 (my requirement) Capresso MT600 and a few others match the list above. Our previous Capresso MTx00 was so good that we decided to roll the dice knowing we were likely to be disappointed. However, I would say that we like the MT600. Here's why: 1. It's programmable and we set it up the night before so we wake up with freshly brewed coffee every morning2. coffee is always hot, whether it's been in the thermo jug for 5 minutes or 35 minutes3. It looks great and complements our Wolf range and KitchenAid / GE Profile4 stainless steel appliances. Bought from Revain for $1055. We've never had disappointments, spills or drips - we were prepared for failure, but after a year we were only satisfied. Note: We grind coffee the night before and then set up the coffee machine. When pouring, I remove the lid completely and pour the coffee perfectly into the cup. My wife pours with the lid closed, turning the lid just enough to pour out the coffee. She never spilled a drop, I've never seen a drop so I can't confirm any issues. We've never had any issues with splashes, overflows, cold coffee, spills, drains, leaks, etc. I like the MT600 because it ticks all the right boxes and far exceeded my low expectations (based on Revain's comments). I hope future buyers have the same luck.
