Review on Dorman Help 56438 Hose Connector by Jeremy Monroe

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Doesn't work for me.

When the oil cooler on my 2004 Ford Focus SVT rusted the only working replacement was a Ford Escape. Unfortunately one of the nipples is in the other direction and I had to lengthen the hose. I've used the plastic version but noticed that it gets crushed by the screw in the yoke. Swap it out because I think it will be stronger. In short, this connector will not hold my heater hose. I even made sure both ends of the rubber hoses were cut properly right before installation. The meat on the teats is not long enough to use the screw clamp properly. Or because it's metal, it slipped off under pressure. Anyway, I pulled it out and used the Ford plastic which is more durable than the Dorman plastic counterpart and has longer clamp nipples. I also saw some rust but I'm not sure if that's on the car or if this connector has started to corrode.
