My older horse had head injuries from standing up after rolling. Ointments and pastes did not help. The inverted boot did not fully protect the chafed area of the ankle, which I would describe as the outer malleolus. I bought these restraints not expecting much but they did their job perfectly! They held up, weren't too tight (my horse is a very large Warmblood), they were easy to adjust, they didn't make my feet sweat (I cut off his legs before putting the spats on), and they didn't don't get in the way. leave no marks although my horse wore them for 2 weeks until his wounds were fully healed (I took off my spats everyday to check for wounds). Now I only have him wear them every other day to prevent new friction sores from developing while riding.
