Review on 🎧 Ultimate Audio Experience: Sony Wireless Headphones WH-CH510 - Bluetooth On-Ear Headset with Mic for Phone-calls, in Blue (Renewed) by Choice Maynard

Revainrating 1 out of 5

After less than 2 months of ownership I started experiencing Bluetooth connection/power issues.

This is an updated review of one I originally wrote in August 2021. I bought a refurbished version of these headphones because the Revain is both cheaper and comes in the color I really wanted. I bought them on July 29th and after less than 2 months of ownership they started shutting down and restarting themselves randomly. My partner bought the same pair on sale at a local store. Her headphones started behaving the same way after less than a week of ownership. We decided to return both pairs and look for something else. I did a lot of research on wireless headphones both before I bought them and after I decided to return them. Every pair of Sony wireless earbuds released in the last two years has had reviews complaining about connectivity issues. I haven't seen cases of automatic restarts, but a few people have mentioned having to restart their headphones to get them working again. If these were their high end models I would presumably get a driver update to fix this issue. But it's not, and I'm not going to quibble over a pair of $35 headphones. Another issue I have with these and many other Sony headphones is the premium price you pay for very little money. Yes, it sounds decent, but it doesn't cost a decent $59.99. In fact, I would go so far as to say that they don't even cost a decent amount, not even $35. Build quality is standard hard cheap plastic that's surprisingly stronger than it sounds. But you still want to be careful. They can take a light tumble onto carpet, but handling the headband roughly or dropping it on a hard surface will ruin your day. They don't fold, they lie flat. If you plan to travel with them I would suggest getting a hard case as they will not sit comfortably around your neck. Since they don't have ANC or soundproofing, I wouldn't be their first choice for wearing in noisy environments. Where these headphones really shine is in the battery life. The battery life of 35 hours is phenomenal. I would use them in my free time to listen to music or watch TV and movies. I easily received 5-7 days without a charge. Thanks to USB-C, they have a quick/quick charge function. 10 minutes equals 90 minutes of listening. I haven't had a chance to test them. Aside from my occasional Bluetooth disconnect/power issues, there are a few other downsides to these headphones. Although the battery has a long lifespan, it takes 4 hours to fully charge and you cannot use the headphones while charging. If your battery dies, you won't be able to use them with a wired connection either. There is no 3.5mm input. They are not protected from water and dust. So if you plan to use them for training or while working in dusty areas, this may cause problems in the future. They also lack multipoint connectivity. So you cannot connect them to more than one device at the same time. This makes switching back and forth between devices a real hassle. But by far the biggest downside is the call quality. The microphone picks up absolutely everything and your voice is played back. Most of the time people would tell me they couldn't hear me so I just gave up and switched to a Plantronics headset. In my opinion, when the headphones have such a low quality microphone, it's not worth it. I'd prefer you get rid of everything together and drop the price somewhere around $15-$18. At this price it would be an absolute bargain. It's just my five cents. spend or not.
