Do not buy if you want touchscreen controls to be emulated on an Android device.

I bought this because they were promoting and showing software available on Android devices to emulate stopovers or touchscreen controls that can be mapped to controller buttons. The 8bitdo app (not from the app store, it's the wrong app, you need to download the .apk file from their support site) doesn't work at all, it just asks you to connect to a PC and download the Tool. After an hour of searching the internet for instructions, I found something for the PC that can be downloaded from their website called Touch Screen Tools. I have my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S4) connected to my PC and use a different one every day. I have an app that mirrors the screen and has allowed me to use my keyboard/mouse for over a year with no issues. This 8bitdo app doesn't recognize any of my Android devices (tablet or phone) when I plug them in, no matter how I change the USB debugging settings. It just says "Plug in the USB cable". I also tried several cables. The booklet that came with the box doesn't say anything about it. There is a link to a YouTube video in .pdf format (written in broken english) that is in the touchscreen software you download from them and the video says it's 'private' and you can't watch it. I can't find any reliable information or instructions online on how to set this up properly. This works in things like my PS1/PSP emulator on Android (because those apps have controller support, not 8bitdo). There's no touchscreen controls or a working keymapping app, and no detailed instructions (or any) on how to set it up. I downloaded a windows program for this and it has display controls and installed windows drivers suitable for this. I haven't played any PC games with it yet. In the hand, however, it is as comfortable as a Playstation controller. If you don't need touchscreen emulation, this is a good controller that works on Android or Windows. If you want something that will connect and work your Android device with keybinding, you'll save yourself some frustration and money.
