We have three quite boisterous Border Collies who like to go out during the day. Initially we had a typical dog door with a plastic lock, but of course the door was unlocked in no time at all. I went to order another flap and found that another one was over $30 USD. At that moment, I had to decide whether to keep buying and installing new sashes, or to buy a more durable door. Given the reviews of this door and its apparent durability, I chose the latter. This door surpasses us in many ways: it is significantly more durable, safer, better insulated and weatherproof and looks much better than our previous door. If you don't want your money to go to waste, just spend the extra money first so you don't have to spend it otherwise replacing flaps.
