Innotech vs Tanita vs Naked Labs

I compared the Innotech scale to two other scales I own: an old Tanita BC-534 and a Naked Labs body scale. Both Innotech and Tanita use a technology called bioelectrical impedance analysis. This method is not the most accurate as many variables can affect the results. Some tips to reduce variables: do not step on the scale on a full stomach, be sure to drink water, clean feet slightly damp are also helpful for tracking purposes; Try to weigh yourself at the same time of day as your body will fluctuate throughout the day. The Naked Labs scale is a $1,400 scale that uses infrared light to capture a 3D model of your body. It then uses a proprietary DXA validated algorithm with a combination of scan metrics. They say the accuracy is +/- 2.5%. For testing purposes, I removed all clothing and jewelry except for my gym shorts. All the scales were in the same place in my room. While the Naked Labs scale doesn't ask you to rate your activity level, the other two scales do. Although I have an office job, I work six days a week. For Tanita and Innotech, I weighed myself in as unsportsmanlike and athletic. Results: Naked Labs: Weight: 207.6 lbs / 20.4% fat Innotech: Unathletic: 207.2 lbs / 24% fat Athletic: 207.2 lbs / 17.1% fat Tanita BC-534: Unathletic: 206, 8 lbs / 23.1% body fat Athlete: 206.8 lbs / 13.9% body fat Assuming the Naked Labs scanner was the most accurate, Innotech would be the second most accurate scale. Now let's focus on Innotech. . In terms of construction, Innotech looks the best and feels premium in my opinion. I also like that the numbers are big, clear and bright. Naked Labs numbers can only be viewed in the app while Tanita numbers are difficult to read. Most of the time I have to bend down to look. The app for Innotech is very informative and has a nice layout. One thing to keep in mind when pairing your phone with a scale. Make sure your location services are turned on or I won't be able to pair them. The application consists of 5 main sections: Goals: Allows you to set a goal weight. Trends: A chart that can track your trends. The toolbar shows a lot of information about your last weigh-in. Info: Includes charts on the importance of body fat percentage. : Information about yourself, the ability to connect to FitBit or Google Fit. I find the app very informative and also explains various indications. In summary, while Innotech doesn't quite match Naked Labs in its metrics, it was right around the corner and being significantly cheaper ($52 vs $1400) it seems like a very good deal. Actually, I was disappointed with the Tanita scale. It's more expensive than Innotech and is always advertised as the recommended weight. Again, I think Innotech is cheaper and more accurate. Another thing I love about Innotech that you can't do with Naked Labs is that you can do this if you just want to jump in for a quick weigh-in. Naked Labs requires you to launch the app, adjust the scale, weigh yourself, and then wait about 5 minutes for the results. Because of this, I use it about once a month.
