Review on Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-2000 PWM 4-Pin Heavy Duty Cooling Fan – Ultimate Performance at 2000 RPM (140mm, Black) by Thong Pilla

High Quality Fan: Computer Components

There are four of these fans on the Corsair H115i heatsink and I really like them. Offers truly exceptional flexibility from virtually silent to silent operation from 550 to 850 rpm thanks to PWM control. You can also move air with 100% authority, but noise becomes an issue. However, when the four work together, they move at a speed of about 200 cubic feet per minute and emit practically nothing but the sound of rushing air. The three-phase motor, self-balancing oil bearing, and rubber corner inserts do a good job of dampening unwanted vibrations. My personal experience with their cooling performance combined with the Corsair H115i shows that when using a PWM hub and software, the Corsair Link absolutely outperforms Corsair's stock 140mm fans. They cool the radiator more efficiently and quietly. I can usually just keep the Corsair Link software in Quiet or Balanced mode, which results in the water temperature not exceeding 29 degrees Celsius in a 68 to 70 degree Fahrenheit room. This keeps my overclocked I7-5820k (4.5GHz @ 1.31V) below 60 degrees Celsius for gaming and even some other CPU intensive tasks. I installed these fans as an exhaust for my case. Benefits: - Highest quality construction materials - Vibration-isolating rubber inserts - Smooth PWM control throughout the RPM range - 3-phase motor - 150,000 hours MTBF and 6-year warranty - Square frame for best performance on heatsinks - Static pressure 4.18mm wc art. - Suitable for use on radiators - 107 CFM (182.5 m^3/h) outdoor airflow at 31.5 dB/ACons: - Costs but you get a better result - Higher noise level is higher than normal for Noctua, but can be remedied with PWM control. The standard vibration rubber inserts are still brown, although you can get other colors. Their power-to-noise ratio is hard to beat and they offer exceptional cooling when circumstances call for exceptional solutions.
