I sprained my ankle a few months ago and it has never healed. So I tried different types of supports before settling on this one. I tried a plain sleeve which was good but offered minimal support. I've tried heavier models with velcro straps. He was supportive but bulky. Then I tried this product. It's versatile and offers different levels of support so I can choose what I need for a specific activity or day. I can wear it as a sleeve for light support for everyday use. The sleeve extends further than the others so it sits closer to my toes in a more comfortable position. For hiking or other heavy activities I add detachable straps. It seems safe. I ordered slightly more than suggested, wore a women's size 8 and bought a medium size. The price for two brackets is unbeatable! They feel the same on both feet, since I have a legless foot I have a fuse. Check!
