Some things you should know first

I bought this unit as a "return" but no problem, from Revain Clearance. A few bucks saved. Or so I thought. Upon delivery, the device had deep scratches and black spots. And no remote! Since I needed this piece of equipment ASAP, it would be a problem to send back a heavy "10 ton" piece of equipment and wait for another. I left the device. There was an error. It was necessary to return immediately and get a regular window block. And here's why: 1. The device needs to be emptied regularly. There's a port for that on the back, but it's so low off the ground that you'll need to use a very shallow pool every day, two or three depending on the temperature and how often you use it. 2. So the solution is to lift the device and drain it into a large basin. Okay, just give it a try and see how it works! The problem is that he has roles, so he doesn't want to stay on anything. So if you build a small wooden platform to lift it, it will slide down. OK, take the videos. And then you'll find that the case, protruding beyond the bottom of the device, prevents that. Okay, so grab some rocks and put them in to raise the block so the hull will clear the platform you just built. So now take a plastic hose to direct the drain water into the pool. And you'll find that it's an odd thread, so you'll have to get a screw on a plug from Home Depot or Lowes and try to match it. I finally found the right fitting and screwed it on. Had to purchase 25ft of tubing to fit the fitting, only used about 10 inches. So now it's on a platform, on bricks, with a drain fitting and a pipe to drain water into the swamp. I bought a medium sized reservoir for this so that it is deep enough but small enough in other dimensions. Turn it on in the summer heat. Look for water dripping from the top of the platform. Okay, the fit is clearly not exact or something. But that's the only thing they had. Buy a kitchen drain pan, place it under the unit and direct the water that drains out into my makeshift sump. A little over 1 day later the swamp overflowed! Okay, drain and clean. Move the device and water trap where I can SEE it daily and drain it daily. How painful! The window unit has NONE of these issues or additional requirements!3. The block is BIG. And loud! The remote control doesn't work that well because the transmit/receive range and taper are small. I had to move something to make everything fit.4. Freon flows out of the device significantly over time, and its cooling capacity steadily decreases. There is no way to recharge it. Pretty expensive device, so it doesn't last.5. The fan will self-destruct. Damn loud! Turn off the device. tear it apart This in itself is a major challenge/problem. Yes the fan is made out of low quality lightweight plastic and the blades split and destroyed the rest of the fan. No, the fan cannot be repaired. No, I don't have money for a new block. Yes, of course the warranty period has expired. How handy for winter with its self-destructing fans! Find a replacement device online. Buy and deliver. Oh boy! The change is very annoying! Now I know why these blocks are really unrepairable and it's recommended to just sort them out. How wasteful! And expensive! I change the fan and somehow reassemble everything. Works for a while.6. Note that it doesn't cool down as much as it used to. Freon must be lost/leaked. Funny, I bought another one of those Whynter floor units and it has the exact same problem! But even faster he lost his composure! Okay, now that you know my sad, painful, and expensive story, you might just want to buy a window unit. I have made! And I'm very, very glad I did! ZERO floor space! Much quieter! I bought a GE device with silent mode and it works very well! So think twice or thrice before buying any ground unit and this unit in particular. - GrantEverything in everything
