This item is great simply because you can leave the day's creation set up, it's not on the floor, on a table or anything like that it needs to be disassembled and put away - as a result my boys (ages 6-13) run at different times of the day, changing places and doing something new all the time. He stays where he is and they return to him later. They even added parts from other plastic marble walkways we have, as well as scuba diver parts and other random household items whose original purpose wasn't to function as part of a marble walkway - their ingenuity to add to the creative results. We love it so much and will be buying more sets for future gifts to keep adding to them. Initially they complained a bit about the putty that came with it so I bought a few different options from the store, it's by no means a perfect system but it worked well enough for our purposes. Yes the wall is dirty now and shows signs of wear but it was worth it.
