I almost sent them back when they arrived because the cut outs on the sole look like it. The plastic material is not cut completely evenly, which seems cheap and unfinished to me. If you look closely at the listing photos you will see that these pairs are not perfect but it is less noticeable than the shoes I received. But I decided to keep them anyway. My son, who just turned 5, didn't like the neoprene water slippers I bought him last summer and I was concerned that the plastic slippers might cause blisters. He doesn't complain about them or ask to wear socks with them, he just puts them on and takes them off. He wears 13 in Plae and other brands of shoes, but Hobibear 13.5 fits him perfectly. He wore them about 6 times on the beach and on water day at camp and they held up well to wear and washing. I wouldn't recommend these for everyday wear, but they are great for playing in the water. They are very light so you can just pack them up and take them with you when you need them. I could actually buy another pair, although I wish they were different colors.
