Build Quality: 3.5/5 Build Quality looks decent, appears to be made out of durable plastic. Magnets are weak and cannot hold large phones, especially when fitted tightly in a case. If you're anything like a Galaxy Note 10 or similar in weight, there's a very high chance that your phone will fall off this magnetic wireless charger. Design: 2/5 The overall design of the wireless charging station looks decent. However, there are some serious design flaws. First, it has a micro USB port for power. Micro-USB is actually one of the worst connector/port designs as the holding "teeth" can easily break. A thicker mini-USB would be a better choice. USB-C would be the best option. Another big issue with its design is the X-shaped magnetic plate. He is very fat. The thickness is 2mm for the rubber part and another 1mm for the glue, so 3mm in total. This means that the magnetic plate will NOT fit inside the case and you will either have to REMOVE the case or glue the plate to the OUTSIDE of the case. Every solution leads to problems. If you remove the case, your device will be compromised. Attaching your device without a case with hardly sticking magnets may cause broken screen or cracks. Switching to an external disk makes this charger unreliable and an eyesore. Since the magnetic plate itself has 1mm of adhesive and folds with the thickness of your case, the wireless charger could potentially keep turning on and off. Price: 2.5/5 For $30 this would be a great purchase. Despite all its shortcomings that make it almost unusable, the cost goes down as it becomes a waste and a terrible purchase. Manufacturer's Recommendations: Consider moving or removing the 4 round magnets in the X-shaped magnetic plate and simply provide a couple (4 pieces) of small and wafer-thin metal inserts that customers can insert between their device and the case. To make installation easier, use stronger magnets in the charging station to compensate for the distance of the round magnets in the magnet plate.
