This set of two 18" x 18" pillow inserts are a little smaller than expected. Both pillow inserts are delivered in a box and sealed in separate vacuum bags. Pillow bags have enough slack in one end so you can open them without damaging the pillow. After removing the pillows from the vacuum bag, they will be a bit flat and will take a while to expand. What I find helpful is putting them in the washer and dryer. I have washed the pillows in batches of 2 in a front load washing machine in cold water. Then I put them in the dryer on the lowest setting and let them dry a bit. After all this, the pillows filled out more, although I still didn't find them very fluffy. I put one of these inserts into an 18" x 18" pillowcase and it just wouldn't fill. comes out very well. I tried fluffing it up but found the pillow insert was too small. After removing and measuring the pillow insert, I found that these inserts are closer to 17" x 17". So not only are they not very fluffy and appear to be devoid of padding, but they aren't 18" x 18" either. The piping around the edges of these pillow inserts is nice and they feel well tailored, but they have no padding and are more like 17" x 17". I am disappointed in these pillow inserts.
