We bought these to hopefully help my toddler learn how to walk in shoes. The sole is flexible enough to more with her but stiff enough to provide protection outdoors. She's been walking for around 4 months but always barefooted. We have tried other shoes and she'd always go tumbling when she'd walk. That's not to say that she immediately stood up and walked perfectly, obviously not, but she did get accustomed to them pretty quickly. I will say though the velcro is pretty strong, that said my toddler can get it undone relatively easy. But unless you purchase tied shoes that's going to be a problem for every pair. Would definitely purchase again.
