Review on Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 SP XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras (Model A09E) by Ojasvi Sharma ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are several shortcomings, in principle, it corresponds to the norm.

Used in tandem with Sony A7m3. Autofocus is terrible. Someone will say you need to ate the firmware. But I bought it with the latest version, I can’t even imagine how the focus on the previous version behaved. He's just awful. Yes, if you shoot a leisurely reportage or maybe a video there, everything is ok. But if there are fast approaching objects in the frame, then even with perfect lighting at any focal value, the lens will specifically disappoint you. 6-7 out of 10 shots will be missed. Of the other disadvantages, this is the plastic from which the lens is made. It is certainly pleasant to the touch, but not wear-resistant at all and scratches very quickly. Well, the focal length is 28mm, it’s not at all almost 24mm, but it’s far from 24mm at all, and you will miss them oh, how much. Again, it's about photography. Of the pluses, this is of course the price, the lens is quite light and has a good contrast, sharp picture. Overall, the price/performance ratio is excellent if you don't need fast autofocus and 24mm.

Pros
  • Price. Picture. The weight.
Cons
  • Autofocus. Plastic. Focal.
