Having bought another TV I have exceeded the number of cables available for my Directv antenna. I won't go into the difference between a multiswitch and a splitter, but I do know that the multiswitch was my choice to allow me to split my satellite signal. Black rubber tabs at the end of each pin allow the coaxial cable to connect to the pin forming a seal. I don't know if it's waterproof, but it's definitely dust and water resistant. When I installed this switch in my shop, I was able to watch my small shop TV. After setting this switch, the image quality has not changed. Now I have 3 more lines for satellite TV. The price was right for this little gem.
