I don't have a gaming headset with built in volume/mute controls so I bought this as an affordable option hoping it would do what I want; ie mute when headphones are plugged into my controller (volume control is a plus). I have to say it works great with my Beats Studio3 Wireless on Black Ops 4. The volume control is smooth and the mute/unmute switch works great. One thing I noticed is that when I plug a controller into my controller and then plug in my headphones, the mute/unmute option doesn't work. So I suggest to connect the headphones to the controller and then to the PS4 controller.
