The fans in my new house are new. However, the landlord has not installed new fans with backlight. I have little to no electrical experience so I had to turn off the switch, strip the wires, plug in and hope I did everything right. Well, it turns out the fan has built-in connectors for the lights. This kit also comes with the appropriate connectors to connect to the fan wiring. The power didn't need to be turned off, although I pushed the switch to be safe. And ten minutes later the light was fully installed and illuminating the room.
