Review on XtremPro Type C Enclosure Aluminum Casing by Jay Williams

Received as a gift for the holidays based on my needs communicated to the gift giver. Arrived, SSD unpacked and plugged in. That does not work. Waited until today to try another drive. Today it's a traditional style Toshiba SATA drive and it doesn't work either. Both glow with a red LED when connected to a computer. I understand that I may have just received a faulty unit, but the build quality is very poor. Very thin extruded aluminum for both side panels and a plastic center where the panels slide. The design does not contain any foam or upholstery materials. There is a piece of anti-static tape on the underside of the circuit board to prevent the circuit board from shorting to the case. I would not buy this item again in the future.
