I have owned a 46 gallon freshwater aquarium for almost two decades and have never used anything like this to clean a jar of algae. I've always used thick brushes. This has always been PITA for removing stubborn algae from the walls and corners of my tank. After looking at reviews of cheaper options I finally settled on the cheaper Piranha Algae Remover and am glad I got it instead. The magnet is very strong. I followed the directions and was amazed at the instant results. I was able to remove stubborn algae without much effort. I use a plastic (not metal) scraper and it works great. Be very careful and manually attach the brush to the outside of the magnet as the magnet can pull the pieces together quickly and you don't want to damage the glass. Love it.
