I bought them as a light casual shoe to wear in hotels and around town when cycling. I really needed full coverage, light weight and preferably not bulky, and they seemed to fit the bill. Slip-ons and lace-ups to avoid extra weight are available in gray or brown to match any of my lightweight convertible pants. Of course, a pair of running shoes will do, but lightweight shoes cost around $100 and these were well under that amount and looked much better when they entered the hotel restaurant. Long-term support was not such a requirement. , as they are designed for use in hotels and short distances to places of interest. Walking around the house, they seemed very comfortable, light, reliable and airy. I put them on as soon as they arrived and they fit as expected (US size 10 / EU size 43). Put them on the scale and they weigh in at a wonderful 16.2 ounces for a pair. My low backpackers weighed 29.6 ounces and my Tevas weighed 20.8 ounces, so this is a welcome relief. I hope they do just as well on my next tour. If so, then it will be a tanned couple in the future.
