Deployment and Troubleshooting I've had a chance to speak to ZyXEL support (here in the good US) and they are

It's been almost 3 months since I deployed the ZyXEL zywall-310 and the device is working. It's been running flawlessly 24/7 ever since. As many other users have mentioned, this device has an extensive list of features. Features that other vendors consider "enterprise-level" and want to charge insane amounts of money for. Before going into production I tested it in a lab environment for about 4 days to make sure it works well for my company and to get familiar with the GUI. As far as configuring firewalls and routers, I consider myself average, and if I were to rate the interface's usability, I'd give it 4 stars out of 5. The more features, the higher the learning curve. Behind our zywall we have various servers running many web services and applications, mail servers, VPN servers and a VOIP phone server. We are also heavy users of NAT with lots of static WAN IPs. During testing, deployment and troubleshooting I had a chance to speak to ZyXEL support (here in the good United States of America) and they really went out of their way to help. I was even using the command line interface for the first time and found it extremely useful. The biggest hurdle I encountered during deployment was getting it to work with our Finality PBXtra box. None of the support groups (Fonality and ZyXEL) could help me to solve the problem and many hours were spent on this work. The solution was fairly simple, but unknown, and it was to allow port 5061 UDP/TCP in the list of accepted protocols on the local network, since the "allow all" rule was not enough. I am very happy with this device and would recommend it to anyone.
