These crampons work very well on ice and slippery snow. They're also pretty easy to put on - I set aside a specific pair of boots and "matched" them to these boots so I can always wear a solid shoe when I'm out on the ice. The rubber part of the product stretched around the sole fits well and is securely fixed. However, the medium size, when used on my boots, leaves a little sag in the middle of the sole of my foot, so the chains hang a bit loose. However, this was easily remedied by simply using a plastic-coated spiral binder to "tuck" the chain around the heel, so to speak. The ice here in Lower Michigan was treacherous where the snow was packed. and then froze, and now I can feel safe when I need to go outside. Good product! Just a warning - you shouldn't walk with them on the floor indoors as the small spikes are sharp and can hurt.
