I didn't buy this for cloning, but to access multiple drives lying around and use a card reader. The speed seems good, but after a week or two I started having problems with the card reader, thinking the cards were write-protected. I use this daily for image editing, so this was a real problem. The only way to solve the problem was to turn the device off and on again. The reason for this was not my SD cards. I use a lot of these in different cameras and they all randomly fail. I ended up having to go back to my old card reader dock and they all worked just fine. I've requested a replacement and have been using it for a few days with no problems. I still gave the item 5 stars because anything can fail, which is why this product gets the first pass as it is a lemon. If the replacement unit has issues I will update this review. TO UPDATE. The same happened with the interchangeable docking station. Train station. It worked for about 2-3 weeks and then everything showed up as read-only. I use Transcend SD cards and even tried a brand new one. The cards are fine and work in my cameras as well as all my other card readers, so they are not SD cards. Another thing I noticed about this dock is the power consumption. A popping/popping sound is heard when the AC adapter is plugged in. It's the same sound that would be heard if they installed high wattage bulbs in a fixture and then turned on the light switch. It's impossible for something like this to draw that much current, and it does when there's nothing inside. I don't normally use drives, but I liked the docking part for my SSDs that I have. There are no floppy drives or cards installed, and it still arcs when plugged into an outlet or power strip. Both the original and the replacement had this problem, as did the SD reader, which saw all cards write-protected after a couple of weeks of very casual use. I gave it 2 stars because Wavlink has always been a good brand for me, but it looks like it might not be compatible with Transcend's 16GB and 32GB SD cards.
