October 2020 update: 17 months later I have had no problems with this cable and its performance. The computer it's connected to works 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so the cable was in constant use the whole time. It worked brilliantly, flawlessly, with no noticeable lags. I still don't see the need for USB 3 in my use case. As an IT engineer, I've known since the late 90's that the USB cable is limited to 5 meters / 16.4 feet. Accept my 2019 challenge of needing a significantly longer USB cable and no pesky USB hubs in the middle. This cable was perfect for what I needed and has always been reliable. It goes from my network/AV closet to the attic and down the wall in the living room. On the other side of the cable is a pluggable USB 2.0 hub. Attached to this hub is an Xbox Wireless Adapter for Win10 and a Bluetooth 4.0 pluggable adapter. This allows me to work on my PC from the living room (let's be honest, I did it to play PC games) with the equipment hidden in a well-ventilated closet. USB 3.0 extension cable, but none of the devices I've used support USB 3.0 and I couldn't justify the "future proof" cost spike. That means Bluetooth and Xbox behind the wall. 2.0 will be around for a very long time, and given my use case, it was the smart and cheap way to go. Here's what I connected to the cable as it worked great for me: * Plugable 4 USB 2.0 Port Powered Hub: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005P2BY5I * Plugable Bluetooth 4.0 LE Adapter: https: / /www .amazon.com/gp/product/B009ZIILLI* Microsoft Xbox Adapter for Windows: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZB7W4QU
