Looks sturdy and comfortable, but looks can be deceiving. Unless your dog is too smart for his own good, he will likely do just fine. The upholstery is nice and looks solid. My dog is an idiot and managed to put the collar on in less than 2 months. She rubbed the clasp on the house until the metal clasp and the texture of the stucco rubbed through the material of the collar. I was really hoping the collar would last longer, I even positioned her electric fence module so that the metal clasp and hardware was placed right on her neck to prevent this behavior but it didn't help. not help. She still figured out how to rub it, and when she succeeded, it didn't take long to destroy it. I'm going to get a spare collar off the tractor in the morning. I know part of my dog is an idiot, but I was hoping he would be strong enough to hold his own against her.
