Review on Ultimate Performance: Intel Core i7-2600 Quad-Core Processor with 8MB Cache and 3.4GHz Speed by Ha Joon ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best thing I have ever used, highly recommended!

Purchased in 2022 for the price of 9500r. A somewhat recent decision on my part was to upgrade my computer, but I was going to keep the same processor and motherboard combination. The only modification I made was upgrading the original cooler to a tower one from Corsair so that I could up the clock speed. Unfortunately, the highest multiplier that can be used with 4 cores that are active is just 39. (40 for 3 cores, 41 for 2, 42 for one). Nevertheless, it only functions reliably when the BCLK frequency is set to 105 MHz, which results in a power output of 4100 MHz (39 times 105). The score that it receives on Cinebench is 697. It is also very pleasing that solder is used under the cover of the processor rather than thermal paste. This ensures that the processor will have consistent thermal conductivity and will last for a long time. All games are much improved when used in conjunction with the GTX1060.

Pros
  • * Unlike all of the upcoming generations of Intel processors, it uses solder instead of thermal paste under the cover * It is still relevant for gaming computers in 2022 * It is reliable * It has eight threads
Cons
  • * A limited capacity for overclocking (without index K)
