So far I'm a fan of this box. It's so light compared to an all metal box! It folds and sets up easily and comes with a protective travel mount. This is perfect when we travel. The mesh is thicker than I expected which is a definite plus. Of course, with any "soft cage," you need to know what type of dog you have. If you have a puppy/dog that chews or a dog that scratches when held, a soft box probably isn't the best choice for your period. Storage compartments are also a little bonus. I prefer a big hole for my dog, but I like that it also has a hole at the top and narrower side. Here are pics of my 52lb dog in a 36"Lx24"Wx28"H cage. As you can see he's quite roomy, especially as he tends to curl up on one side. Personally I wouldn't go any smaller for him because I want it to be able to stretch out or stand up without opening the top. But I might scale it down slightly for the next one and just leave the top open. Hope this helps someone else exploring padded boxes. :)
