Review on 🐾 Mountainsmith Dog Backpack by Elaine Ross

Beautiful, be careful when choosing the size

This dog package is very good. It is high quality and strong. One thing I would like to note is that sizing is a little tricky. I have a 48 lb Husky/German Shepherd mix and thought a medium sized pack would be perfect. Appropriate, but hardly. All belts are tightened as tightly as possible. We even measured their girth in advance. Thankfully we were able to get it to work, but our 45-pound pointer/healer mix can't carry it. We had to buy her a small size that fits her carrier size well, although part of the backpack looks a bit small on her. But overall a great product. We've looked at bags at Petco and Petsmart and the bags they sell just don't seem to be that high quality. And the dog backpacks from Ruffwear, REI, and Kelty were too expensive, so this backpack was the perfect compromise. We use them every day for walks. They're easy to put on (assuming your dog isn't bouncing back and forth all over the place) and dogs definitely train better with weights than without them. I look forward to using it when we go hiking/camping in a few weeks so they can help carry their water.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • There is nothing here
