Summary: I had to make some modifications to the product before installation and reused the original knob (after cleaning) because the replacement knob didn't fit the valve stem snugly. Installation would have been easy (hardest part was removing the cover from the old handle) if I didn't have to make any modifications and clean the old handle. Details below: I bought this product for about half the price of an OEM replacement and thought it would be good value. The product arrived in good condition and is visually appealing, but there are a few issues that made me reject it: 1. The padding on the back of the pad is made of rubber (the original padding of the pad is foam rubber, more pliable/ compliant); 2. The liner gasket had no gap in the lower part for water flow, although there is a drainage recess in the panel itself. When I cut it to create a gap the gasket fell out of the panel. The original panel gasket is glued to the panel and has a drainage gap - I applied some caulk behind the panel and pushed the gasket in to glue it so it wouldn't move or fall out when I installed the panel (had to leave it cure for a while); 3. The brass bushing does not fit snugly over the valve stem (the OEM bushing fits the stem snugly) and the corresponding gasket on the back of the trim plate has not been properly aligned so it is not making good contact the full length of the bushing (nothing interferes ). do for it); 4. The knob didn't fit snugly on the valve stem - it twisted a little to each side before sticking on the temperature setting. It was annoying and I think it will cause more wear over time so I cleaned and reused the original grip.
