As another reviewer noted, they cannot be installed without running cables through the hole in the far back. I was hoping I could cut a channel to get the wires out of the side but no luck. Not enough space. Although it's not the worst. If you look at the pictures you can see that there is a 1/4"+ clearance between the mounting tabs and the mounting surface when installed. This means you will never be able to properly tighten the mounting screws without breaking the light, and if you try to use it as is the slightest hit of the light will probably break it.I saw it in pictures and assumed it was some kind of illusion.I mean who designed these things on purpose? I suppose if your wires go through a hole in the back and you want to find some sort of spacer for the mounting tabs they will work fine, but why bother?UPDATE!>>>>>>>>>>> >>> Okay now the nonsense makes sense This item was never designed as a standalone light source, it was actually designed as an insert that fits into a patented chrome frame I came across this while looking for an alternative to the Rev have been looking for. What they're selling really only represents half of a usable light assembly. When you're sitting in the bezel, the mounting lugs appear to be properly supported by the bezel, and more than likely everything works well together. However, as a standalone light source, this is useless junk. It shouldn't even be for sale.
