The reality is that you need both types of videos; smooth and aggressive. The reels themselves could also move more smoothly on the bar if there was some sort of bearing or bushing between the reel and the bar, which isn't there. That doesn't mean it doesn't move, it's just not as smooth as it could be, which would make it that much better. Overall the construction is very solid and I had no issues with slipping. You should note that due to the design you will need at least a few inches outside of your door jamb; If you have a door where the panel is close to the wall to the left or right of the door, you cannot use this device in that door. Clamps extend well beyond the standard size door skin. I really think I would try the slick reel if I thought I was going to get a brand new piece of equipment and if I could pay over $300 for two of these. It would be great if the roles were interchangeable and both could be offered more cheaply.
