I currently own 3 laptop stands, all of which are traditional style and made from one piece of bevelled flat plastic chassis (1" high at the front and 2" high at the rear) with a fan in the centre. When I saw this adjustable laptop stand that can elevate a laptop high off the tabletop, I wanted to try it, so I settled on this one. unusual unboxing experience. It weighs about 4.25 pounds. Initially I was a bit concerned that this type of lighting could be an issue holding the laptop up when standing, but it turns out that wasn't an issue at all, the stand holds my laptops firmly, no problem. I love the look of the silver aluminum this stand is made of. The plate that the laptop sits on has padding on the left and right sides, and the two bottom extensions that hold the laptop in place are also padded. I love the design of this laptop stand. When folded with an inclined laptop stand, it works the same as a traditional laptop stand, about 1.25 inches from the desk surface in front, but unlike a traditional stand, I can adjust the back to any height I want. If I switch to stand mode, I can work on the laptop while standing. I put in the heaviest laptop I have, a 17 inch beast that weighs 6.4 pounds. on a laptop board and handled it like this laptop weighs nothing, I'm impressed. I love this adjustable laptop stand, it works exactly as advertised. Unfortunately, this is not ideal. There are a few things that kept me from giving 5 stars. It's bits and pieces, I'd give it 4.5 stars, but there's no 0.5 spacing in the Revain star system, so... First, it's the build quality. Overall build quality is good, but the stand I received has a small flaw. The plastic pad under the plate that the laptop sits on (where you can see 8 screws, see attached image) is not secure, it wobbles a bit which is why it makes such a rattling noise when you move the stand. Maybe it's not common, maybe I just got one that has this pad loose, that's not a mistake in the store, and the stand isn't broken, so I won't return it, just because of that looseness, a little thing, but it's annoying, it's one of those things that once you realize it you can't help but hear a song and it gets stuck in your head... I think it's more my problem, but I still think that this pad should be firmly fixed and should not dangle so easily. Second, how rigid the hinges are, it takes very little effort to fold and unfold the stand. While it makes sense that the hinges should be rigid to support the laptop's weight and keep the stand stable, I think it should be possible to design the hinges to be less stiff without sacrificing their ability compromising keeping the stand straight while supporting the weight of the laptop. It's not a cheap laptop stand after all, Tounee should be able to design a better hinge for it, maybe they will be included in the next version. Overall I love this Tounee adjustable laptop stand, it does everything it says in the description. do, I give it 4.5 stars, it's a keeper.
