when I received the mats were folded properly so I didn't spot any fold lines but the zippers caused some wear and tear to the fabric of the mats as they were attached so tightly. Not the biggest thing. My rugs are still unrolled well. It doesn't smell like chemicals, it works perfectly. The color/design was bright and beautiful. For the price I paid, I think they were as expected.
