These pants have a few nuances. I bought them not only for the city but also for the occasional ski and snowmobile adventure. I've seen several styles of these pants under different names and found them to look best with the blue and black pattern. First, they're not as thick as expected and they fit like wide pants, which has its advantages: they don't look like tight biker pants and they can be worn underneath. They may be wind and water resistant, but cold wind and rain will definitely feel on your feet or when you're sitting on a snowdrift. The side pocket was too low for me, maybe I'm too small, but when I put my phone in it it landed between my kneecap and I can feel the seams on the inside against my skin, which isn't really a concern. I live in Colorado and tested them in temps this winter and found them great on their own from mid 30s to mid 60s, 0 to 32 degrees, wear a midweight base layer and be active in minus weather find something else. I would say for ski wear ski pants, they will bring snow to your feet, these pants seem to be the best for work, hiking and bad weather. Overall, they make a fairly robust impression and are worth their price. Order your normal pant size which I wear 33 and got 34 with flex waistband, no belt and could also fit 32.
