Pros: My daughter loved the Skylanders. She was glued to him. For at least 3 years she played Skylanders for at least an hour every day. Whenever a new iteration came out, she had to have it. The top of the long shelf that ran across the huge table in our library was a wall-to-wall Skylander. We always knew what to give her for each gift. CONS: - One day she stopped playing for a dime because of the violence involved, although good always wins. - The main disadvantage of Skylanders is that it is a gift that keeps being given - in reverse order. You're not going to buy just one video game. You will buy lots and lots of figurines and other knick knacks. We're easily in for over a thousand dollars! Not bad for a video game. It was the first game to make such a leap. After that, Disney Infinity and Lego Dimensions stepped in. From a business perspective, it's brilliant. From a consumer perspective, not much. BABY SAYS: This game was absolutely revolutionary. The idea of turning real-life toys into video games was truly phenomenal. Making them collectibles was particularly good from a marketing perspective, and giving each character a unique backstory was a surefire way to make sure people really wanted to collect them all. Enjoyed playing. TOTAL: An excellent game designed for many, many hours of fun. Just know what you're getting yourself into.
