Review on 🚴 POC Ventral Air Spin Helmet: Optimal Protection for Road Cycling by Marcel Robinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

First impression

I bought a large orange helmet. It replaced a 2006 Bell helmet that served me well, but after over 15,000 miles and 13 years it was time for a replacement. I expect this helmet to last 3x as long considering it costs over 3x the price. Fit: I have a head circumference of approx. 58 cm, so I'm close to the average size. My Bell was medium sized but I went for the large as I couldn't find an LBS to try on with this model. I even asked LBS to order both sizes for me but they couldn't do it. After all, I still don't know if the big one is right for me. The large fits well, but has enough space. I'm pretty sure the medium would fit and be easier. However, the large one was good for extra space. My gutter strip hasn't pinched and I have room for a winter hat if needed. Handling: Ventilation is a welcome upgrade. I suffer a lot from the heat and this helmet is as airy as I can imagine. An added benefit is that it seems to have really good aerodynamics, which I think I've already noticed. Straps: Straps came with POC. No more twisted strap. Her strap is snug against the cheek. However, my concern is that the strap material is too soft. While it feels good against the skin, I don't know if it will hold up to the abuse I'm about to inflict on it. Just take a look. I've seen comments about the strap fit issue. Not sure what it was about. I haven't noticed any problems. Other thoughts. i love orange This helps alert drivers and looks pretty cool when it starts to go away. Being able to easily store sunglasses in a helmet is a very welcome change. I considered deducting a star for the price because it's so expensive, but ultimately I have no qualms. I'll update when I find the reason. Update 6/4/20: I still love this helmet!
