I had choppy video and camera dropouts. This only started after adding additional cameras. I have two 4k, two 720p and eight 1080p cameras. All of Amcrest. I would reboot the router and cameras and it worked for a while but eventually failed. I upgraded my router to a device that can handle up to 55 connections. We're in a place with tons of electrical gear and wireless security connections, and that's affecting connections too. After updating my router and turning off all unnecessary wireless devices in the building, I had NO video dropouts. Everything works fine and this new router covers the building and even goes beyond. I didn't have it before. Video is crystal clear. I am very happy with the system. As I update cameras one at a time (hopefully soon) I will update this post to reflect what it will and won't do. Wired is still the best way.
