The main reason I bought these chunky lights was that I needed an integrated switch. I wish there were more optimized options but I didn't find them as bright. I bought an older version with 72 LED elements a few years ago. A few months ago I finally got around to installing it in my trunk. The 72 element version was fine. It didn't look bright, more of an off-white color, which gave an interesting glow and was also useful. But the new version of this lamp with 108 elements looks much brighter. In addition to the elements, they appear to have adjusted the wavelength of light for better illumination. As they come in a pack of 2 I will also be replacing the old one I have installed on another car. The double assembly line was pretty much useless. I tried it first by attaching it to the inside of the trunk lid. The next day the mount was in the ground. So I used metal brackets. The mounts were quick and easy to use if you don't mind drilling a few holes. I am very happy with these devices.
